CranioSacral
therapy is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that modifies and corrects
restrictions in the cranial sacral system. The cranial sacral
system consists of structures within the body including the membranes
and cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds and protects the brain and
spinal cord.
CST is utilized to improve wellness and enhance the body's self-correction and regulating system. This unique structural technique supports the body's natural ability to self-heal. A craniosacral practitioner uses light-touch--no more than the weight of a nickel to release pressure on the brain and spinal cord. The central nervous system then becomes free of restrictions and gently eases the subject into homeostasis. CST can provide relief for the following:
- Stress
- Migraines and Headaches
- Chronic Fatigue
- TMJ
- Learning Disabilities
- Autism Spectrum Disorders
I practice this light-touch therapy that soothes the central nervous system thus inducing whole body relaxation. In February, 2007, I completed CranioSacral Therapy Level I through the Upledger Institute. Although not a certified therapist, I do incorporate CST techniques into my
healing treatments.
